Ramesh Dassanayake is a highly experienced tourism professional with more than 30 years of leadership in Sri Lanka’s travel and hospitality industry. He is the Founder and Director of Sunway Holidays, a well-established destination management company that has been promoting Sri Lanka to international markets since 1992.
Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with global travel partners, tour operators and tourism authorities, playing a key role in developing inbound tourism and strengthening Sri Lanka’s presence in international travel markets. His expertise spans tour operations, destination marketing, international partnerships and tourism development.
Mr. Dassanayake is committed to supporting the professional growth of the hospitality and tourism sector through knowledge sharing, industry collaboration and the promotion of global standards within the profession.
Sisira Senaratna – FIH
Mr. Sisira Senaratna is a respected hospitality professional with extensive experience in hotel operations, tourism development and industry training in Sri Lanka. Over the course of his career, he has contributed significantly to the growth and professional advancement of the hospitality sector, bringing strong expertise in operational management, staff development and service excellence.
He has held senior management positions within leading hospitality establishments and has been actively involved in promoting professional standards, industry education and capacity building within the tourism and hospitality community.
Through his involvement with the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) Sri Lanka Region, Mr. Senaratna continues to support initiatives that strengthen professional networking, knowledge sharing and the development of future hospitality leaders.
Niroshan De Silva – FIH
Mr. Niroshan De Silva is a distinguished hospitality industry professional with extensive leadership experience across Sri Lanka’s leisure, tourism and retail sectors. He currently serves as Sri Lanka Regional Vice Chair of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH), contributing to the advancement of professional standards and development within the hospitality community.
Mr. De Silva has held several prominent leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer of LAUGFS Leisure, where he has played a significant role in driving strategic growth and strengthening hospitality operations. He is also recognised for his contributions to industry development, having served as Co-Chairman of Hotel Show Colombo and as Founder Chairman of the National Barista Championship in Sri Lanka.
With a strong background in hospitality leadership, brand development and industry engagement, Mr. De Silva continues to support initiatives that enhance professional education, innovation and collaboration within Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector.
Dr. Harsha Jayasinghe – FIH
Dr. Harsha Jayasinghe is a highly respected hospitality professional with more than three decades of leadership experience in the leisure and tourism industry. He currently serves as the General Manager of Pandanus Beach Resort & Spa in Sri Lanka and has extensive international exposure, having worked across numerous countries within the global hospitality sector.
Dr. Jayasinghe holds several academic and professional qualifications in hospitality and management, including a PhD in Hospitality Management, reflecting his commitment to advancing professional standards and leadership within the industry. Over the course of his career, he has held senior positions ranging from operations management to executive leadership, successfully driving operational excellence, team development and strategic growth in hospitality organisations.
He has played a significant role in strengthening professional development within Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector and previously served as Chairperson of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) – Sri Lanka Chapter, contributing to the promotion of global hospitality standards and industry education.
Thushara Gunawardana – FIH
Mr. Thushara Gunawardana is an experienced hospitality professional with a strong background in hotel management, operations and customer service excellence. Over the years, he has contributed to the development of Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector through his leadership in hotel operations, staff training and service quality improvement.

Prof. Sri Rangana – MIH
Prof. Rangana Shalika graduated from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka before receiving his Master’s degree from Colombo University, Sri Lanka, and PhD degree from Management and Science University in Malaysia. He currently works as a Professor in Tourism Management attached to the Department of Tourism Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Belihuloya. He was the former Director of the Center for Research and Knowledge Dissemination (CRKD), Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. He has been involved in various administrative activities at the University and contributed his service to various government and private sector tourism projects as a consultant and a resource person in various workshops.  His major teaching and research areas are ecotourism, community-based tourism, sustainable tourism development, and homestay tourism in Asian Countries. He has published nearly 65 articles in well-recognized journals both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Prof. Rangana is an editorial board member of the Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management, International Journal of Education, Humanities and Social Science, and a member of the Global Association for Humanities and Social Science Research, and the managing editor of the South Asian Journal of Tourism and Hospitality.
